Chandler Day threw two 24-yard touchdown passes to D.J. Miller to lead the Mustangs, who are now 5-2 overall and — more importantly — 3-1 in a very competitive region.
Defense and special teams also contributed to Houston’s victory. Sophomore Jonas Jimerson returned a fumble 31 yards for a touchdown and Ladeadrick James returned a free kick for a touchdown following a fourth-quarter safety.
Miller finished with five catches for 77 yards and rounded off his fine game with an interception.
Bartlett drops to 3-3 overall and 2-2 in league play.
In another game with big implications, Germantown trailed Whitehaven at halftime before winning, 24-20. It’s the first region loss for the Tigers, who had entered Week 7 tied with Collierville at 4-0 and in first place.
