We’re more than halfway through the Tennessee girls high school basketball season. With district play ramping up, here’s a look at the top Memphis area girls basketball programs. 

1. Bartlett (13-8): The Panthers have lost their last two games, playing in the Sophie Cunningham Classic last weekend, but are the top team in the Memphis area. 

2. Whitehaven (10-4): Led by senior Tierney Kelsey, the Tigers have won the last four games. 

3. Memphis East (12-3): Tristan Spearman, the team’s leading scorer, has helped the Mustangs win their last four games. 

4. Collierville (16-7): The Dragons have won seven of the last eight and have district games against Bartlett and Houston this week. 

5. Houston (12-5): Led by Anna Lee Avery, the Mustangs have region games against Cordova and Collierville this week. 

6. Center Hill (14-4): After starting the season 10-2, the Mustangs have won four of their last six games. 

7. Lewisburg (14-6): Allison Irby and Allie Carroll are the two top scorers for the Patriots and have helped them win four of the last six games. 

8. St. Benedict (10-4): Maria Bair scored 29 points in the Eagles’ win over Bolton to help them defeat Bolton for their third-straight win. They have St. Mary’s and Hutchison this week. 

9. Hutchison (6-2): Ava Jones scored 22 points in the Sting’s 60-49 win over Fayette-Ware last week in their fourth straight win. 

10. Middle College (14-2): The Bulldogs have just one loss in the last 14 games with Manassas and MLK Prep this week.
