Houston high soccer standout Katrina Ostrom has been selected to play in the East-West national all-star game, which takes place Dec. 3 in Raleigh, North Carolina.

The game matches 42 of the nation's top seniors from across the country.

Ostrom — a defender who was named to the USA Today preseason all-USA team — concluded her career by leading Houston to an 18-1-2 record and a spot in the AAA semifinals. She anchored a Mustangs' defense that allowed just five goals all season.

During her four years on the varsity, Houston compiled an 83-2-5 record and won two state championships while finishing second the other year.
