Houston (7-2, 5-1 Region 8-6A) at Collierville (7-2, 4-2)

The rundown: It’s the high school version of Ole Miss-Mississippi State or Auburn-Alabama. Only with the second seed in the Class 6A playoffs — and the all-important home game that goes with it — the prize for the winner.

Houston has a strong claim to being the second-best team in the city behind Germantown. The Mustangs’ two losses have been by a combined three points — two against South Panola and one versus the Red Devils — and they’ve been firing on all cylinders since that Germantown game on Sept. 1.

In those six straight victories, Houston is averaging nearly 40 points per game and will only be more potent now that quarterback Chandler Day is healthy again and back in the starting line-up. Damon Sisa (121.3 all-purpose yards per game) and Celley Davis are two talented running backs and the receiving corps is coming into its own as the season has progressed.
