Randall’s squad made quick work of the other 26 girls teams at Saturday’s 35th Frank Horton Night Classic winning the team title with 76 points, far outdistancing second-place Green Hill High’s 159.
Just in time to then go celebrate homecoming at Randall’s house.
Houston placed all five of its scoring runners inside the top 24 led by senior Zoe Marsh’s third-place finish in a season-best time of 18:35.30 and junior Lindsey Barnes took eighth in 19:27.
The Webb School’s outstanding distance runner Abby Faith Cheeseman won the individual title in 16:27.60.
CBHS, the top local boys cross country program, proved that once again at the classic at Shelby Farms, compiling 39 points to win the 45-team boys race.
The Brothers went 1-2 in the race with Joe Edwards (15:41.30) outsprinting Kaleb Smith (15:43.20) to win the title.
Noah Mullenix (6th), Wilson Boutwell (11th), and Chaz Jones (19th) rounded out the scoring finishers for coach Nick Dwyer’s team.
The Frank Horton race was started in 1989 in honor of coach Frank Horton who was the CBHS XC and track distance coach from 1977-1989.
