It's an exciting Week 3 in Tennessee high school football.

Germantown and Houston meet in one of the two top-10 showdowns in the Memphis area. The Red Devils entered the season as the No. 1 team and have held that for three weeks. Can Houston pull off the upset and put the rest of TSSAA Region 8-6A on notice?

In the other top-10 showdown, it's Bartlett hosting Collierville in what would be a massive win for first-year coach Chris Smith. The Panthers bounced back from an opening loss with a win over Lausanne in Week 2 and could get back-to-back wins. Here are the other top games in the Memphis area, plus predictions.

Game of the Week
Germantown (2-0) at Houston (1-1)
When: 7 p.m., Friday

You couldn’t ask for a better game to kick off Region 8-6A play in the Memphis area than Germantown vs. Houston. It’s one of the area’s top defenses against one of the region's explosive offenses. The Red Devils, led by Tyshawn Jefferson, Daniel Anderson and DJ Allen on defense, have allowed just 15 points in two games.

Houston, offensively, has been on fire, despite losing 28-26 to South Panola last week. Derrick Miller and Chandler Day have been in sync in the passing game with Miller leading the receiving corps with 246 yards and four touchdowns.

Wilcox’s pick: Germantown 27, Houston 24
