Karlisa Mungen was next to set a new record. In the 100m, she ran an 11.92, and finished fourth overall. She also anchored the 4x100 relay, and along with her teammates Abby Johnson, Takyah Mungen, and Meave Couvillion, set another school record by running a 47.81. The finished State-Runner Up!
Zoe Marsh ran her first event of the day, and she finished runner- up in the 1600m. Up next, she ran the 3200m. Before Marsh’s next event started, Vanderbilt signee Eva Gautreaux ran the 400m. Gautreaux claimed the title of State Champion, running a 55.97, and with that, she earned Houston the 100th State Championship in school history. The celebration for the 100th championship was quickly elevated. Zoe Marsh was set to run the 3200m, and with that, she became a State Champion as well. Houston’s total State Championships went up to 101.
