Maddie Eskin and Abbie Rushwin each scored two goals as Houston opened defense of its AAA girls soccer championship with a 6-1 victory over McMinn County Wednesday in Murfreesboro.

Eskin got her first goal in the fourth minute of play as she followed home a rebound before adding her second just before halftime on a low shot from about 22 yards. The Mustangs (18-0-2) then pulled away after the break, thanks to goals from Jenna Kemp and Bailey Rose before Rushwin got her two in the final 10 minutes.

Morgan Hutchison scored a 63rd-minute goal for McMinn County (12-9-2), only the third goal Houston has allowed all season.
